I'll have to give my Ewe a name - YouEwe is the first to spring to mind!
YouEwe has lived in the back of the van for the last few days - but yesterday we pitched
this great army tent and it is safely installed until we have chance to move it to the position to be painted in!
It will be next week when I start. Looking forward to it!

The digital image in the background is the one chosen (well - a slightly different version of it) , so tonight I was starting to get ideas rolling and doing a practice run!!
Hopefully starting to 'clothe' YouYew tomorrow.
(Having been a clothes designer it suits me really - "suits yew?" "no, suits me!!".)

I couldn't fit her in through the door of my studio - which is a converted caravan;
Couldn't fit her into the kitchen.
Our bedroom was the only option
until my Sherpa friend pulled out this fab retro shelter from his magical tardis shed!!

Beginning to get into it and enjoy myself...
My work now is in digital media and so I haven't painted in ages - and - probably nothing as big as this sheep before!

The beginning stages ... giving an undercoat.
It is a good experience for me right now - I'm seeing it as a gift really (as I am prone to do with such things ... "The greatest gift of all is the present" ) - as I do love painting - and think about it quite often. This is the encouragement I needed to do a new painting very soon!
I've had a few sessions on li'll ol' YouEwe and she's almost there now!
It took a while getting the moon to radiate out in a smooth kinda' way but I learned a few things along the way and got there after a few attempts!!
I really enjoyed the effect the tree line had to the overall picture - I had a feeling it was going to give it the depth it needed!

YouEwe went on location this weekend
The curious onlookers witnessed the inner world of this
'ovis aries'....
Have you ever found yourself asking the question ...
"what do sheep dream of?" .....
She was installed in her pen inside 'Doodle Planet' ... an amazing space with a 3-sided white wall in the centre where kids were invited to doodle away to their heart's content. It was busy in there most of the day ...There was also an animation workshop happening which looked like great fun ...
The screen positioned at the back of the pen ...
...and the projector had to be positioned on a chair - beneath the doodle panels (next time I'll build a rig!!).
It was a wee bit too light in the marquee for the video. Steve held up a board so we could position the projector ...
As it was just too bright in there - someone came up with the great idea of showing YouEwe off to the general public!
I wanted people to be aware of the project as well as the video installation ...

She was a kid magnet!! .... she was soooo popular - we had to keep an eye on things as the kids were becoming very animated around her.... rattling the pen, reaching in to pat, prod and sometimes bash her! Interesting to see the reactions!
Adults were equally interested in what she was made of - needing to tap, knock & prod too!!
Lots of people stopped by to read what it was all about.
Next door, Ian Mitchell had a wacky and interesting set up asking festi-goers to post amusing and interesting comments they'd overheard at the festival. He makes them in to brilliant graphic posters

Dropped Youewe (pedigree name: I prefer the Peaceful Darkness) - in Skipton.
Most of the rest of the flock were positioned outside the Auction Mart, on their plinths.
They are to be moved into their positions about the town next week.
You can interact with it and add your own computers' dreams to the pool of imagery - it morphs with it and a whole new generation is created!!!

a Beefy Sheep!! - but I think the moonie theme has swayed me in the feminine direction.
They call em' Yows up in these parts!!
